Random – Unconnected Thoughts

— Pastor Doug October 29, 2009 @ 10:28 pm

I’ve had a great deal of time to think lately, and it seems most of my thoughts were entirely unrelated. So I decided to write them down for review later. I’ll understand if you want to skip this blog entry.

1. The only time that I watch baseball is during the World Series.
2. Global Warming is a scam to allow the government to tax the weather.
3. Our pool stays clear during the Fall even when I neglect it.
4. I love my ‘96 Dodge Ram pick-up. Though it’s not much to look at.
5. The sunset on Lake Pontchartrain is inspiring.
6. My Fourth Grade teacher was Mrs. Strickland. I still think about her. She was a good person.
7. My bother in law is a huge New Orleans Saints fan. He passed it on to me.
8. iPhone has a cool App called, ‘Ben Stein, It’s Trivial’. Habit forming.
9. I still don’t get Algebra.
10. I really hate awkward conversations. But after they’re done I’m glad I had them.
11. I don’t trust the US Congress to fix Health Care.
12. Any day on my tractor is a good day.
13. I’m going to China next year, again.
14. Funerals make me sad.
15. My brother, who was 14 months older than me, died suddenly in 2006. We had Psalms 23:1 engraved on his tombstone.
16. Evolution is a lie. I betcha.
17. Life is really short. Eternity is really long.
18. Christmas !
19. I wonder what the American soldiers in Afghanistan think about the war.

Big Campus Progress

— Pastor Doug October 10, 2009 @ 2:27 pm

We have made big progress this week on the campus. Thanks to everyone who contributed so much time and energy. Among many other things, we dug a new addition to the lake. This one is about 15,000 square foot. The walking track around the entire lake will be about a half a mile when completed. Also we built the foundation for the foot bridge over the lake. And we laid the rest of the grass in the playground and it’s ready for a new swing set. It was a fantastic week with great weather. Getting ready for Christmas. : )
