BDiM is in full motion right now. There are loads of people celebrating Memorial Day with us. During all three weekend Experiences we honored the Military , especially the ones who paid the ultimate price. God Bless America. And here’s a special salute for all of you who have family members serving their country right now. Much love to you all.
Welcome summertime and vacation season. May the Lord bless and keep you is my prayer.

Big Day in May

— Pastor Doug May 22, 2009 @ 8:10 am

This weekend at Journey is going to be AWESOME. We are celebrating Memorial Day by honoring the Armed Forces. A special tribute will be held during each weekend Experience. Immediately following the 11AM Experience we will kick off the Family Picnic. It’s going to be a fun weekend. This is also ‘Send Off’ time for our outreach teams. Teams from Journey will be traveling this summer to serve the Navajo Indians, and the nations of Jamaica, Germany, Brazil and India.
    Big Day in May indeed.

The Missing Link Hoax

— Pastor Doug May 19, 2009 @ 9:23 pm

The media is going nuts about the ‘discovery’ of the missing link that they say proves evolution is true. That is a bold claim to make based on such flimsy evidence. The fossil looks a great deal like a lemur. And it DOES NOT show a transitional species between ape and man. It is about the size of a racoon and looks nothing like a human. For a scientific explanation that will expose this deceitful claim follow this link to www.answersingenesis.com then click on the article about the ‘Missing Link’. This claim by the evolutionist is a bold attempt to confuse the facts. We are on to their tricks. Read the article at answersingenesis.

Happy Mothers Day

— Pastor Doug May 10, 2009 @ 6:56 am

This would be a boring world without the girls. Chicks Rock ! Especially moms. Happy Moms Day. The McAllister crew celebrated on Saturday night, to beat the Sunday lunch rush. We found a restaurant with only a fifteen minute wait. All five of our children gathered around the table to love on Rachel. Then we told stories about each other for several hours. We laughed and I cried and I soaked in the moment.
I drifted back in my thoughts to the days before our kids were born. I could still feel the excitement in my heart about the prospect of spending my life with that pretty young lady. We were both teenagers when we met and made one of the biggest decisions of our lives. The decision was a good one. We decided to spend the rest of our lives together. Last night, I sat there in the middle of the buzz of stories and looked at the faces of that decision. Five little faces. Even though most of them are grown up now, they will always be our little babies. Born and bred in the context of our relationship, part of our struggle and bringer of our joy. And to think that it all happened because of falling in love with a pretty girl.
Life aint nothing until you put a girl in it. Happy Mother’s Day.

My friend and the leader of the AG in the USA, Dr George Wood, has posted some incredible interviews on the home page of www.ag.org .  In the last year he has interviewed Mark Batterson, Auntie Annie ( Pretzel Fame), John Ashcroft (former Attorney General), Rick Warren, among others. There is one of Dr. wood interviewing me on the day we dedicated the Journey Northshore campus. Once you are on the AG.org home page click on the ‘Dr. George O. Wood Media Resources’ . The Mask

— Pastor Doug May 3, 2009 @ 3:42 pm

Next weekend in Part 2  of the series, ‘UnChristian’, we’re going to turn our attention to PLASTIC Christianity. I think we can all identify with the subject. I know I do. ‘Plastic’ faith is more about appearances and less about transformation. The message is going to open up with the Momentum Drama team doing a skit called MASK. You’ve got to see this drama. It will make you laugh and cry. It will show the secret to Authentic Christianity. It’s okay to be real.
