Today at Fountainebleau State Park we are partnering with several area churches to sponsor a Convoy of Hope outreach. Thousands of people still reeling from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina will come for free physical and spiritual resources to help their families. Beginning at 10 AM Convoy will be giving away free groceries to any family in need. And there will be ministry geared especially to children. This is all made possible by the cooperation of many local churches in the area. The local mastermind behind the scenes of this outreach is Pastor Ralph Boutte. Thanks Ralph for your vision and commitment to help hurting people on the Nothshore. I will post some pictures of the event later.

I spent most of this past week in Springfield, MO at the Headquarters of the Assemblies of God. Dr. George Wood www.georgeowood.com invited me to be a part of his Superintendents Cabinet. It is a group of pastors from around the country that has been brought together to share ideas about the future of the AG. I met some new friends and saw some old ones. We will soon celebrate 100 years as a movement and we must stay on top of reaching our culture with the Gospel. Thus the reason for the cabinet. On the way home Friday I stopped at James River Assembly and had coffee with John Lindell. www.jamesriver.org Great week. We drove home through the Ozark mountains. I love the mountains. What a view. What a week.

How long can an entire church go without being hooked up to the World Wide Web ? At least six weeks. At least that’s how long it has been for us. But on Friday April 11th that is going to change. That is the date that AT&T promised we would be connected. So many of our operating systems are web-based, that we’ve been limping along since moving in to the new campus. T1 tomorrow. Sweet. Check in should flow SMOOTHLY this weekend.
The delay was caused by a crushed underground conduit that was dedicated to the communications room. It wasn’t discovered until right before our move. The contractors had to dig and bury a new one after we moved in. Then AT&T couldn’t deliver our phones and internet as scheduled. One delay compounded another and here we are six weeks later. Well now we have phones (985.882.4124) fax. fire alarm, burglar alarm and tomorrow the World Wide Web. I can’t wait.
